Xavier Lázaro was the winner of the Initiation category yesterday at the Braga International Karting Circuit, in what was the penultimate round of the KIA Portugal Karting Championship. Driving the Birel ART with a Honda engine, the young driver from Várzea de Sintra had already shown his strength in the category yesterday, securing pole position and triumphing in both qualifying heats.

Today, with the Pre-Final and Final races, Xavier Lázaro once again showed himself to be very focused on achieving a perfect score, something he began to accomplish by winning the Pre-Final. In the afternoon, in the Final, starting from the first position, the seven-year-old maintained the lead into the first corner, despite pressure from Francisco Correia. From there, he was not troubled in the fight for first place, managing to open a solid lead over the competition. Lázaro won with a 2.174-second lead over the second-placed Francisco Correia. With this result, Xavier Lázaro is decisively on the path to the title.

"I am very happy with this victory", a radiant Xavier Lázaro said at the end. "This result was very important to me because I want to be champion, and now it's easier. Thanks to my team, my mom, my dad, and my sister, who always give me a lot of strength and help"
