Xavier Lázaro concluded this Sunday at Baltar the third round of the Portuguese Karting Championship, with a 14th place in Race 2 of the X30 Mini category. The driver from Várzea de Sintra was not happy with the decisive race, finishing a lap behind the winner, as a consequence of an accident at the beginning of the race organized by the Clube Automóvel do Minho (CAM).

Growing increasingly comfortable behind the wheel of the Kart Republic from Cabo Júnior Team (CJT), Xavier Lázaro took a risk in Race 2, trying to gain several positions at the start. With some excess confidence, stemming from his irreverence and inexperience, he ended up being too eager, paying the price for the mistake. He managed to finish the race in 14th place, but already a lap behind.

Consistent For the Rest Of the Day

In general terms, Xavier Lázaro performed well on this second day of races at the Baltar Karting Circuit, although he didn't achieve the same results as on Saturday.

In the timed practice sessions, he secured the 14th position, running at a slower pace than the day before, with his best lap at 55.247s (compared to 54.428s on Saturday).

In the Qualifying Heat, he slightly minimized the damage from the Qualifying session, finishing the 12-lap race in 13th place, one position higher than where he had started.

"Today, 'Xavi' wasn't as intense as on Saturday, although he was very aggressive in the final race"at the end of the day, said hia father Vasco Lázaro He is very competitive and always wants more. At the start of the last race, he wanted to gain six positions at once (laughs). It didn't go well, but it serves as a lesson, and as I've always said, this year is all about learning. He is very young, and all of this is part of it. The talent is there, the aggressiveness too, time will take care of the rest".
