The year 2022 is a year of hard work for Xavier Lázaro. In his second year in the X30 Mini category, the eight-year-old will add to his competitive season in Portugal a series of races in Italy. The goal is to continue his development behind the wheel of Mini category karts (X30 Mini in Portugal), while simultaneously preparing his physical and technical abilities to be at the highest level in international competition.
With Danilo Rossi's team, DR
After several seasons competing under the Cabo Júnior Team (CJT) banner, Xavier Lázaro's present and immediate future in competitive racing will be with DR, the team of the multiple world karting champion, Danilo Rossi. The driver from Várzea de Sintra had already tested multiple times with DR and raced in the official structure during the previous year's Final Cup and Karting Ayrton Senna Trophy. This year, with the official team, Xavier Lázaro will participate in an extensive race program, making sporadic appearances in the WSK Super Master Series and WSK Euro Series championships. He will also compete in two rounds of the Italian Karting Championship and attend prestigious single events such as the Trofeo Andrea Margutti, WSK Super Cup by Mini, and WSK Open Cup.
At the national level, Xavier Lázaro will participate in all events of the FPAK calendar, including the Open de Portugal, Campeonato de Portugal de Karting Toyota, and Taça de Portugal, with the support of DR.
HERE is the sports calendar for Xavier Lázaro for this year.

"This will be a year of hard work for Xavier", said his father, Vasco Lázaro. "It is a year in which he has a lot to learn. He will combine his national schedule with a wide range of races in Italy, which will allow him to grow significantly as he will be on the track with the best drivers in the world in his category. He will learn a lot, and this will be crucial for his competitive future. I believe it will also have an impact on his performance in the national calendar, especially from the middle to the end of the season."
Since the end of 2021, Xavier Lázaro has been actively engaged in training, preparing for an intense year. Despite being very young, the driver has been rapidly growing in competitiveness, which bodes well for the immediate future.

"I've been on the track a lot, training, and getting more and more accustomed to the equipment I'll be competing with this year"said a highly motivated Xavier Lázaro. "I have a lot to learn this year, and I'm eager for it. I'll be racing the entire local calendar and, in addition, spending time in Italy on tracks that, in most cases, I already got to know last year. DR has been spectacular with me from the beginning, giving me a lot of attention and pushing me. I will be stronger this year and full of the desire to keep evolving."
Xavier Lázaro's competitive season begins next weekend with the 2nd stage of the WSK Super Master Series in Lonato, Italy.
