Xavier L\u00e1zaro is this weekend in Baltar to continue his first season in X30 Mini, competing in the third stage of the Portuguese Karting Championship, in an event organized by the Minho Automobile Club. On the first of the two days of the event, the reigning champion in the Initiation class had a very positive performance, showing himself increasingly comfortable in the new category and behind the wheel of the Kart Republic\/X30 Waterswift of Cabo J\u00fanior Team (CJT). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a difficult track and on a very hot day, the young seven-year-old showed very positive signs, not only regarding his pace but also due to the competitiveness demonstrated on the track. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the timed practice sessions, Xavier L\u00e1zaro ended up with the 14th time out of the 15 drivers present at the Baltar Karting Circuit. His best lap was recorded in 54.428 seconds, leaving him just over a second behind the driver on pole<\/em>. However, at that time, it was his best absolute lap on the track, which showed improvement compared to the two free practice sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from 14th place for the 1st Qualifying Heat, L\u00e1zaro was strong at the beginning, but eventually lost some pace in the final laps due to fatigue and the intense heat experienced today on the track. Nevertheless, he finished the race in 10th position, four places ahead of where he had started for the 12-lap race. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, in Race 1, Xavier L\u00e1zaro had an excellent start to the race, even reaching the sixth position in the first few laps. With 16 laps (4 more than the Qualifying Heat), this race was very challenging for the young driver from V\u00e1rzea de Sintra, who once again struggled a bit with fatigue and heat in the final laps, eventually finishing in 11th place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Xavi once again did very well\"<\/strong>, at the end of the day,\" said father Vasco L\u00e1zaro. \"It's very hot here in Baltar, the track is very challenging, with ups and downs, and overall it's very technical. The final race was 16 laps, and 'Xavi,' while he's in good physical condition, is getting stronger and more comfortable in the kart. Of course, fatigue sets in towards the end, leading to some mistakes. But all of this is part of a learning process that we know is part of the first year in this category. He evolves daily, and once again today, he didn't receive any penalties, which shows how focused he is during the races\"<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
