Xavier L\u00e1zaro finished today in 10th place in the Mini Sub 10 Final at the WSK Champions Cup, the opening race of the WSK Promotion season, held at the South Garda Karting in Lonato. Behind the wheel of the official DR, the Portuguese driver started the final in sixth position but dropped a few places in the early laps, even reaching the 15th position at one point. Not backing down from the fight, he managed to recover several positions until the checkered flag, finishing in 10th place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though securing a top 10 in the first competition of the WSK Promotion calendar and the Champions Cup being one of the most traditional events by this promoter, with 58 drivers registered in the Mini Sub 10 category, the result feels a bit disappointing. This is considering that Xavier L\u00e1zaro was one of the strongest drivers on the track throughout the weekend, holding the distinction of recording the second fastest lap of the entire event in the category (52.363s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3rd Place in Pre-Final A<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This morning, Xavier L\u00e1zaro competed in Pre-Final A. The 10-year-old started from the third row in sixth place and gained a position right after the race started. However, a minor collision in front of him left him in a disadvantaged position on the track, losing two places during the second lap. The driver spent some time recovering those positions, and although he was a second behind the leaders, he had a strong finish, crossing the finish line in third place and putting pressure on the second-placed competitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excellent Teamwork<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If Xavier Lazaro proved to be quite competitive at the season opener in the WSK, it is important to appreciate the excellent work of the DR team throughout the weekend. The Portuguese driver faced some challenges in being fast during the initial free practice sessions, but the team managed to work to find solutions and assist the Portuguese driver in being among the best in the category throughout the weekend. \"I want to thank DR for their commitment, dedication, and excellent work throughout the week, allowing me to perform at my best\"<\/strong>, Xavier L\u00e1zaro said. \"I also want to thank Marco Salemi for his work in preparing the engines\"<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver from V\u00e1rzea de Sintra will hardly have time to rest after this event, as he will be racing again next week, also in Lonato, in the first of four stages in the WSK Super Master Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
