Xavier L\u00e1zaro concluded his participation in the Karting KIA Portugal Championship this weekend in Braga. In his debut season in the X30 Mini category, the reigning champion in the Initiation class once again showed a very good level behind the wheel of the Kart Republic of Cabo Junior Team, achieving good results in the event organized by ACDME at the Braga International Karting Circuit (KIB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, Xavier L\u00e1zaro had already shown signs of becoming increasingly comfortable in the X30 Mini category, where he made his debut this year and is the youngest driver. Yesterday, he showed strength once again, even better than the previous day, particularly in terms of competitive posture. In the Qualifying sessions, Xavier L\u00e1zaro set his best lap time at 1m01.807s, a result that left him 0.887s behind the pole position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2nd Qualifying Heat, the youngster from V\u00e1rzea de Sintra performed strongly, starting the 10-lap race very well. Combative and highly competitive, Xavier L\u00e1zaro climbed positions as much as possible, finishing the race in a positive eighth place. His best lap of the race was recorded at 1m01.296, just over three tenths behind the fastest lap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Once again Xavier showed strength, reacting convincingly to the position he brought from the qualifying sessions\"<\/strong>,the father, Vasco L\u00e1zaro, stated. \"He is getting better every day, physically, technically, and psychologically. Moreover, he is having fun on the track\"<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Race 2, Xavier L\u00e1zaro had a good start, although he couldn't avoid a collision that damaged the nose of the Kart Republic. The race was interrupted due to an accident, but when it resumed, the driver from Cabo Junior Team once again showed strength in fighting for the top positions, engaging in battles with some much more experienced opponents. After the 13 laps of the race, Xavier L\u00e1zaro finished in 11th place. This result doesn't reflect the young eight-year-old's good performance in what was the final race of the year in the Karting KIA Portugal Championship. The penalty imposed for the damage to the Kart Republic's nose was decisive for Xavier L\u00e1zaro to finish outside the top 10. Nevertheless, both the overall season assessment and the driver's performance in Braga are widely positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"I can't hide that I am very pleased with Xavier's performance this weekend\"<\/strong>, said Vasco L\u00e1zaro. \"He is getting stronger every day. I feel him more comfortable behind the wheel of the X30 Mini, and I say this at all levels. Today, he also had to manage his emotions because the accident that led to the interruption of Race 2, where a driver injured his leg, ended up affecting him psychologically a bit. Nevertheless, he reacted well and fought with some of his opponents. Looking closely at his journey since the beginning of the year, I notice tremendous progress, which makes me optimistic for the future\"<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having completed his first season in the X30 Mini category of the Karting KIA Portugal Championship, Xavier L\u00e1zaro was happy but already focused on the next race. \"I am happy with my performance in the championship\"<\/strong>, said the eight-year-old. \"This was a learning season, and I already feel much more comfortable in the kart. Now, I want to start focusing on the Portugal Cup, a race that I really enjoy. I want to thank my parents for the support they always give me. I also want to thank the Cabo Junior Team, especially Jacinto Gameiro and Jos\u00e9 Cabo\"<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
