Xavier Lázaro concluded this Sunday at Baltar the third round of the Portuguese Karting Championship, with a 14th place in Race 2 of the X30 Mini category. The driver from Várzea de Sintra was not happy with the decisive race, finishing a lap behind the winner, as a consequence of an accident at the beginning of the race organized by the Clube Automóvel do Minho (CAM).
Cada vez mais à vontade ao volante do Kart Republic do Cabo Júnior Team (CJT), Xavier Lázaro arriscou na Corrida 2, tentando ganhar várias posições no arranque. Com algum excesso de confiança, fruto da irreverência e inexperiência, acabou por ir com ‘demasiada sede ao pote’, pagando carro pelo erro. Conseguiu terminar a prova no 14º lugar, mas já a uma volta de atraso.

In general terms, Xavier Lázaro performed well on this second day of races at the Baltar Karting Circuit, although he didn't achieve the same results as on Saturday.
In the timed practice sessions, he secured the 14th position, running at a slower pace than the day before, with his best lap at 55.247s (compared to 54.428s on Saturday).
In the Qualifying Heat, he slightly minimized the damage from the Qualifying session, finishing the 12-lap race in 13th place, one position higher than where he had started.
“Hoje o ‘Xavi’ não esteve tão intenso como no sábado, embora na corrida final estivesse muito agressivo”at the end of the day, said hia father Vasco Lázaro “Ele é muito competitivo e quer sempre mais. No arranque da última corrida quis ganhar seis posições de uma vez (laughs). Não correu bem, mas serve de lição e este ano como sempre venho dizendo é para aprender. Ele é muito jovem e tudo isto faz parte. O talento está lá, a agressividade também, o tempo tratará do resto”.
