Xavier Lázaro fechou esta tarde da melhor forma possível a sua temporada de 2020 na categoria Iniciação, vencendo no Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve (KIA) a Taça de Portugal de Karting. O Campeão em título concretizou a ‘dobradinha’, saindo vencedor das duas competições mais importantes da modalidade no nosso país.

Today, Lázaro once again won in the second qualifying heat, showing superiority in every lap, leading and building an advantage that ultimately amounted to 2.201 seconds over the 2nd place finisher.
His most dominant performance came in the Pre-Final this morning, as Lázaro won with a commanding 8.173-second lead over Martim Gomes.
In the Final, Xavier Lázaro initially opened up a substantial lead, but as the race progressed, it required the driver from Cabo Júnior Team to use his experience and talent to stay in the lead, which he managed to do by winning with a 1.683-second margin over the weekend's main rival, Martim Gomes.
“Estou muito feliz com este resultado, pois queria muito vencer a Taça de Portugal”, at the end of the day said Xavier Lázaro. “Ainda que esta tenha sido a edição de 2020, este resultado vem-me motivar bastante para a nova temporada, em que estarei noutra categoria, a X30 Mini. Quero aproveitar para felicitar o meu pai que hoje também venceu a Taça de Portugal, na X30 Super Shifter Master. Hoje foi um dia grande para os Lázaro (risos)”.
